Aldbourne CC - Club Rules

Name and Purpose.
The club will be known as the Aldbourne cricket club.

It will be based at the Blue Boar Public House, Aldbourne.

The purpose of the club is to provide the opportunity to play cricket and other sports and to provide drink and food for members and their guests

Membership and subscriptions.
Membership will be divided as follows:

Full adult members, those who have paid the full membership fee. This allows participation in the club’s weekly cricket matches at the standard fee. Only full adult members can stand for election to the committee.

Full junior members, those who have paid the full membership fee. This allows participation in the club’s weekly cricket matches at the reduced standard fee.

Associate members, who have not paid the full annual membership fee. This allows participation in the club’s weekly cricket matches at an increased fee.

Honorary members who in the opinion of the committee have performed a service to the club.

All new members must be proposed and seconded by full adult members.

Membership fees will be payable before the first match of the summer season.

Decision making.
There will be an Annual General Meeting (AGM) once every calendar year.
At the AGM:

The officials who form the committee of the club will be elected by secret ballot. They will be responsible for running the club on a day to day basis throughout that year.

Any change proposed to the annual membership fee will be set, by a simple majority.

Any proposed changes to the rules of the club will be decided by a simple majority.

The accounts for the previous season will be presented and adopted.

Only paid up members of the club will be invited to the AGM.

One months notice in writing of the AGM will be given together with proposal forms for club officials.

Club officials require a proposer and a seconder.

Any proposed changes to the rules of the club must be circulated with the notice of the AGM. Any proposed changes to the rules of the club can only be made by a paid up member in writing to the club secretary.

The quorum for the AGM will be five which must include one committee member. If less than five attend the meeting then the meeting will be suspended.

Any AGM that follows a suspended AGM will require one weeks notice in writing. After two suspended AGM’s the quorum is reduced to two.

Only members attending the AGM will be allowed to vote.

Club officials.
The following officials will form the committee. The President, The Chairman, The Treasurer, The Secretary, The Captain, and the Vice-Captain, The Fixtures secretary and the Membership secretary

An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) can be called by any member, giving two weeks notice in writing to all members with the reason for the meeting.

Finances.
The club will hold a current account at the Midland Bank PLC in Newbury. The current account will always remain in credit. Any cheque will require two signatories. The cheque signatories will be, the Chairman, the Treasurer and the Captain.

Behaviour of players.
The committee will determine the standard of cricket kit fit to be worn for matches.

The committee can discipline a member who brings the club into general disrepute.

Dissolving the club.
A resolution to dissolve the club can be proposed for consideration at either a AGM or a EGM

Any funds in hand, after all debts have been settled, will be distributed equally to those attending the dissolution meeting.
